Seth Godin, one of my favorite marketers, writes a thought provoking blog which I routinely read. Seth’s doesn’t specifically write about the real estate industry but his ideas can be applied to just about any industry.
The other day, Seth wrote a post titled “Don’t forget about the color”. In Seth’s post, he said “You don’t need to make a big deal of it” and “A little goes a long way”. Seth didn’t write this post about real estate but what he said about color is good advice for home sellers.
A little color goes a long way. If the walls in your Spring Texas house look like the colors of the rainbow, you have too much color. I know, I know … it is just paint you say. It’s easily changed. And I agree it is easily changed but what you are forgetting is buyers want a move-in ready house. Buyers do not want to repaint your walls.
If you want to get the most money possible for your Spring Texas home and I assume you do, then cater to the desires of buyers. We still have plenty of new construction homes in Spring Texas where buyers do not have to make any changes. A little color but not a lot will bring more buyers to your door and will get you more money for your house.
What’s the best wall color that appeals to buyers? Kilim Beige by Sherwin Williams. It’s the new neutral that numerous Spring Texas home builders are using.
