It’s going to be a quiet Fourth of July weekend this year. Due to the historic drought conditions we are experiencing in the Spring Texas area, Harris County Commissioners have banned the sale and use of all fireworks in the unincorporated areas of the county.
There was a slight chance that the public fireworks displays would still go on but now even those have been cancelled. As The Woodlands, Splashtown, and Sam Houston Race Park have all cancelled their fireworks displays for 2011. The only fireworks display we will be viewing this year will be on television.
Fourth of July without fireworks is like ….. Halloween without candy. It just won’t be the same.
